Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Diakon Behavioral Health Services offers a range of counseling and behavioral services to children, teens, families and adult individuals. Services are provided through counseling centers in Mechanicsburg, Lewisburg, Montoursville, Williamsport, within several public-school buildings, Kennett Square, and Chester County. Specialized programs include family-based mental health services, provided in the community and in-home, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy and SPIN, a service designed to assist children and youths who have problematic sexual behaviors.
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for directing and administering psychiatric services and treatment planning.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to assess patients' mental health status and determine appropriate diagnoses and in keeping with professional standards of practice as well as DPW, DOH and other third-party requirements.
- Develop individualized treatment plan for each client per agency procedures, state regulations and third-party standards.
- Prescribe and monitor medications, adjusting dosages as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as therapists, counselors, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Education/Training: Obtained a master's or postmaster's nurse practitioner program or other PA board-approved program that awarded an advanced degree. Holds a PA license as a Certified Nurse practitioner (CRNP). Holds a mental health certification or obtains a mental health certification within 2 years of being hired.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience preferred.
ADA: Ability to bend, stoop, stand, reach and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; valid driver's license.
