The Federal Bureau of Prisons is seeking Psychiatrists to join the Health Services Team at our Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas (FMC Fort Worth).
The Psychiatrist provides professional health care services for federal prisoners confined within a BOP facility and may provide consultative services via BOP tele-health network. The Psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and programs for patients suspected of having mental disorders; Responsible for the development of the master treatment plan and mental health component of the ambulatory treatment plan and subsequent reviews for patients under their care and is directly responsible for the continuity of psychiatric care given to the patients assigned to their caseload.
In working with other members of the healthcare treatment team, the Psychiatrist provides psychiatric services to ensure optimal mental health for inmates and provides direction in achieving the psychological climate and environment conducive to the rehabilitation of the criminal offender.
Please note that this is a Federal Law Enforcement position. Applicants must be citizens of the U.S.. Applicants will also need to pass a pre-employment drug screening and law enforcement background check. Training in Policy, Self-Defense, and Firearms use will be provided to the selected candidate during a 3 week training program in Glynco, Georgia. This training is schedule within the first few months of employment.
Salary will be determined through a panel of compensation experts using Title 38 pay setting criteria.
