Job DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION: FAR GROUP is looking for a responsible and experienced partner to provide 1.0 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Board Certified Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Certified Physician Services on-site in accordance with the specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS). PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: SFVAHCS, 2501 W 22nd Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57105 QUALIFICATIONS: * The Physician shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory,or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property. * The physician shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary Disease and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. * The physician shall provide copies of current CMEs as required or requested by the SFVAHCS. Contract physician (s) registered or certified by national/medical associationsshall continue to meet the minimum standards for CME to remain current. The physician shall report CME hours to the credentialing office for tracking. These documents are required for both privileging and re- privileging. * DEA - The physician shall provide a copy of the current DEA certificate in South Dakota whereservices will be provided under this contract. * Training (ACLS, BLS, CPRS, and VA MANDATORY): Physician shall meet all VA educational requirements and mandatory course requirements defined herein; all training must be completed by the physician's physician(s) as required by the VA. Other training may become required. VA will communicate any changes to the training requirement to the physician. Training requirements are described below: ( its updates or replacement directives, IG Guidance at 8994, Section II(C); Guidance at 4875, Section III(B) (4) Sentencing Guidelines, Section 8B2.1 (b) (4) (B) annual compliance training is to be provided to all physicians within the scope of their work. The medical center representatives will coordinate the annual training with their respective Compliance and Business Integrity Officers. VA Mandatory training is usually completed via computer. A copy of the documentation of the completed annual training is to be provided to FAR Group. It is a policy of this Medical Center that all contract personnel to be employed under this contract must be Advanced Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified. ACLS and BLS must be provided by VHA accredited organization. As part of the credentialing process, the physician ACLS and BLS certification must be sent to the Medical Staff Office. Failure to provide proof of certification to the Medical Staff Office may impact on the contract personnel qualification under this requirement. No services will be provided by any contract personnel prior to obtaining approval by the SFVAHCS Professional Standards Board, Clinical Executive Board, and Director. For all providers that will be utilizing moderate sedation, evidence of current ACLS (or equivalent) trainingis required. For providers that will not be utilizing moderate sedation, evidence of current BLS training (or equivalent to include CPR/AED training or VA Heart Saver Class) will be required. In addition, the above training there are other VA-specific training courses that must be completed. These may be clinical or administrative in nature. FAR Group will notify the physician of all required VA training. All training must be current to work. Note: Training classes are offered at the VA atno cost to the physician. A certificate of training must be provided to the clinical service's Administrative Officer with a copy forwarded to FAR Group. VA HOURS OF OPERATION/SCHEDULING: 1. Normal Clinic Hours for VA Pulmonary Clinic: SFVAHCS Pulmonary department operates Monday- Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. 2. Work Schedule: The physician shall be assigned to a daytime tour of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The Sioux Falls VA Health Care system reserves the right to flex shifts to accommodate changes in workload demands. If any changes are needed, the Sioux Falls VAHCS will give 30 days' notice before the shift change. 3. Patients must be seen by a contract physician (s) on-site at the SFVAHCS in a timely manner in accordance with VA Rules and Regulations on clinic wait times and consult completion. The physician shall notify FAR Group at least monthly about any obstacles to meeting this performance measure. 4. Contract Physician(s) shall be available and present in the clinic during normal SFVAHCS clinic hours. WHY CHOSE FAR GROUP?
