A/R Posting Analyst

POSITION PURPOSE

AR Posting Analyst experienced in reviewing and interpreting Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents, accurately posting insurance payments, and analyzing claim denials. Knowledgeable in Claim Adjustment Reason Codes (CARCs) and Remittance Advice Remark Codes (RARCs) to identify payment adjustments, denial reasons, underpayments, and reimbursement discrepancies. Skilled in researching account issues, ensuring accurate payment application, and supporting timely resolution of outstanding accounts receivable.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:

• Experience in accounts receivable, cash application, payment posting, billing, or accounting preferred.

• Working knowledge of payer billing requirements

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.

Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:

• Healthcare accounts receivable and insurance payment posting.
• ERA/EOB review and interpretation.
• Understanding of CARC and RARC codes.
• Denial identification and basic denial analysis.
• Payment reconciliation and adjustment posting.
• Underpayment and reimbursement discrepancy identification.
• Patient account research and account reconciliation.
• Healthcare billing systems and electronic remittance processing.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Preferred qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of medical posting experience in a Critical Access Hospital (CAH) preferred.
