Radiation Therapist FT

  • JOB RELATIONSHIPS
    • Responsible to Director of Cancer Treatment Services, the Chief Radiation Therapist, and the Radiation Oncologist
  • DEFINITION OF POSITION
    • The Radiation Oncology Therapist is responsible for administering radiation treatments to patients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologists.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional
      • ARRT registered or registry eligible graduate of an AMA approved school of radiation oncology technology, having a working knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of a radiation oncology department.
      • The Radiation Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
      • The individual must
        • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span
        • Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status
        • Interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs
        • Provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
      • Knowledge of biological radiation effects.
      • Knowledge of various therapy equipment.
