Location: Mountain View, Cupertino and San Jose

Shift: Days

  • Week 1: Sun 9a-6p, Tue-Fri 8a-430p
  • Week 2: Tue - Fri 8a-430p, Sat 9a-6p


*every other weekend, every other weekend = 3-day weekend.

Compensation: $58.61-$61.57 per hour

Imaging Specialist II, Under general supervision, the Imaging Specialist II performs diagnostic imaging procedures using high-frequency electromagnetic radiation (X-ray) to support physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries. Responsibilities include operating conventional radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality images of designated anatomical areas, ensuring adherence to safety standards and clinical protocols.

The Imaging Specialist II is also responsible for supporting or performing more complex procedures, including the preparation and administration of contrast media, and assisting physicians with sterile techniques during specialized exams.

This role requires competency in two or more imaging modalities, which may include X-ray/Fluoroscopy, DEXA, Mammography, or CT. The Imaging Specialist II must demonstrate proficiency in each modality and ensure a high standard of patient care, safety, and image quality across all assigned areas.

Essential Functions:

Patient Care & Imaging Procedures

  • Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiologic procedures, including fluoroscopic studies and additional modalities such as DEXA or other assigned imaging areas.
  • Provides exemplary patient care by thoroughly explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation.
  • Prepares and accurately positions patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and optimal diagnostic results.
  • Adjusts and utilizes immobilization devices as necessary to secure patient positioning and improve image quality.
  • Selects appropriate techniques and exposure factors based on patient characteristics (e.g., age, weight, anatomy) to ensure optimal image quality while adhering to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
  • Adapts exposure settings to produce high-quality diagnostic images with proper radiographic detail, density, and anatomical accuracy.
  • Follow strict radiation protection protocols to safeguard patients, self, and others.
  • Demonstrates and models the organization's WeCare principles in every patient interaction.


Operational Duties & Equipment Management

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment; coordinates service or repair needs with appropriate vendors or internal resources.
  • Prepares images for interpretation by radiologists or ordering physicians, ensuring clarity and proper labeling.
  • Processes images, verifies patient information, and ensures quality control standards are met.
  • Accurately completes and maintains required documentation, including patient records, logs, forms, and QA/QC reports.
  • Conducts and documents quality assurance and quality control measures in accordance with department protocols.


Administration & Compliance

  • Completes special assignments and projects as directed to support departmental and organizational goals.
  • Inputs and maintains follow-up data in the system, facilitating accurate communications with patients and providers.
  • Supports a positive patient experience and contributes to overall satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Complies with all organizational policies, including human resources, safety, HIPAA, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and complete all required training and certifications.
  • Perform duties in alignment with departmental schedules, standards, and best practices.


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist License (CRT)
  • Current California Fluoroscopy Permit
  • Current Radiology Licensure with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist - (R)ARRT
  • BLS certification
  • Two (2) years of experience working with an EMR
  • Experience working with a PACS or RIS system
  • Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM
  • Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills
  • Solid patient/guest relations skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner
  • Ability to perform basic math
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted to maintain standard workflow
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong understanding of the ambulatory care environment, physician workforce dynamics, and healthcare market trends.
  • Financial acumen with experience in analyzing business opportunities and evaluating ROI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information to executive and board-level audiences.


Preferred:

  • 2 years of EPIC EMR experience
