Radiology Assistant

- Greets all customers with courtesy and professionalism and provides appropriate assistance and information.
- Receives, screens, routes and responds to incoming telephone calls in a polite and professional manner. Obtains accurate information, delivers appropriate messages, and directs calls as needed.
- Receives, manages and accurately transcribes external provider orders in a timely manner. Scan orders and supporting documents into Epic.
- Exhibits advanced knowledge of scheduling exams. Understands the difference between the modality types, preps for each exam and appointment durations. Is able to independently manage the scheduling work queue.
- Assures that prior authorizations have been completed prior to scheduling exams.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competence in the functions and processes of Merge PACS to include burning CDs and electronically routing images.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competence in Epic functions and processes.
- Maintains a clean and tidy workspace.
- Engages in and contributes toward department specific quality outcomes.
- Actively participates in employee rounding sessions.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
