Radiology Assistant

We're looking for a Patient Information Coordinator to manage the day-to-day clerical activities that keep our healthcare team running smoothly. In this role, you'll greet patients with care, schedule and register appointments, verify preauthorization details, and assist with electronic image transmission using PACS.   • Greets all customers with courtesy and professionalism and provides appropriate assistance and information.
  • Receives, screens, routes and responds to incoming telephone calls in a polite and professional manner. Obtains accurate information, delivers appropriate messages, and directs calls as needed.
  • Receives, manages and accurately transcribes external provider orders in a timely manner. Scan orders and supporting documents into Epic.
  • Exhibits advanced knowledge of scheduling exams. Understands the difference between the modality types, preps for each exam and appointment durations. Is able to independently manage the scheduling work queue.
  • Assures that prior authorizations have been completed prior to scheduling exams.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competence in the functions and processes of Merge PACS to include burning CDs and electronically routing images.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competence in Epic functions and processes.
  • Maintains a clean and tidy workspace.
  • Engages in and contributes toward department specific quality outcomes.
  • Actively participates in employee rounding sessions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
