R&D Chemical Engineer
Role Overview:
This role is for a hands-on R&D Chemical Engineer with extensive wet lab experience in chemicals and polymer synthesis. The successful candidate will work independently in a fast-paced lab environment, supporting various projects by designing experiments, preparing chemical formulations, and performing detailed characterization and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct wet lab experiments involving chemical and polymer synthesis to support R&D projects.
- Prepare, handle, and manage chemical formulations, resins, and laboratory solutions.
- Design experiments and apply problem-solving techniques to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols while working with hazardous chemicals.
- Perform chemical characterization using techniques like FTIR, DSC, and titration methods.
- Analyze experimental data and derive meaningful technical conclusions.
- Troubleshoot reactions, formulations, and material performance issues effectively.
- Develop, document, and maintain test methods, protocols, and technical reports.
- Support compliance with GMP and maintain documentation aligned with audit-ready standards.
- Assist in lab equipment/process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and overall lab operations.
Required Skills:
- Hands-on wet lab experience in chemicals and polymer synthesis.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab environment.
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals and lab safety protocols.
- Preparation and handling of chemical formulations, resins, and solutions.
- Strong experimental design and problem-solving capability.
- Familiarity with test method development and chemical characterization methods such as titration, FTIR, DSC, and polymer structure-property testing.
- Troubleshooting of reaction, formulation, or material performance issues.
- Authoring of protocols, reports, and technical documentation.
- Data analysis and interpretation with clear technical conclusions.
- EIS: Medical Device & Regulations.
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of GMP and regulated lab environments (medical device/pharma preferred).
- Experience supporting IQ/OQ/PQ for lab equipment or processes.
- Documentation practices aligned with audit-ready and traceable systems.
- Lab management experience.
- Isocyanate chemistry experience.
- EIS: MDD Risk Management.

- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
