Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse on our Medical/Surgical Unit, you will provide direct age-specific care for adults, adolescents, and neonate patients. You'll work in collaboration with our Hospitalists, Respiratory Therapy, Rehabilitation Services, and Social Services teams to ensure a therapeutic and safe environment following Patient and Family Centered Care plans. You will experience caring for a wide variety of patients while utilizing your full scope of skills, such as IV placements, catheter placement, assessments, interventions, and medication administration.

Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: RN ASN, $42.27-$62.17; RN BSN, $43.97-$64.66; RN MSN, $45.72-$67.24. These ranges reflect the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
- Assesses patient's condition based upon observation, examination, and/or interview, laboratory findings, and other pertinent information
- Completes assessment in specified time frame.
- Identifies and consistently recognizes changes in normal and abnormal parameters in the patient's physiological and psychological condition.
- Uses professional judgement and critical thinking to prepare, prioritize and execute the patient's plan of care consistent with patient assessment data and physician's treatment plans and professional standards of evidence based practice.
- Directs and delegates support personnel in implementing patient's plan of care, provides supervision and guidance.
- Performs all technical skills required for unit patient population such as, but not limited to IV venipuncture, restraint application, sterile dressings, etc.
- Assist with direct patient care including providing ADLs and answering call lights.
- Evaluates and documents patient's response to nursing care and modifies or revises treatment plans, and/or contacts physicians as circumstances require.
- Documentation reflects evaluation of patient response to nursing actions.
Qualifications
- Current RN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing, in good standing
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification for Health Care Providers (if not current, will need to be obtained in the first 6 months)
- Current ACLS certification (if not current will need to obtain in the first 6 months)
- Current PEARS certification (if not current will need to obtain in the first 6 months)
- Initial Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months of hire and a refresher course every two years after the initial certification.
- EKG rhythm interpretation (competence must be documented in the first 6 months)
Hours and Schedule
- 48 hours per two-week pay period
- Scheduled 8- or 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM or 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Two weekends out of every six
- Every third holiday
