Relief Physician
Position Description
This position is responsible for providing primary ambulatory medical care. This includes examination of patients, ordering x-rays and laboratory tests to help make an accurate diagnosis, and planning and execution of treatment. The person in this position works in a busy, pressured environment, and sees a high volume of patients, as needed by TTUHSC.
Major/Essential Functions
- Seeing inpatients at UMC and EPCH.
- Being on restricted call for UMC and EPCH.
- Operations and inpatient procedures and operations on patients.
- Remain current with all licensures, certifications and mandatory compliance and trainings required for this position.
- Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.
- Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Services, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications
- Graduated from an approved accredited School of Medicine with an M.D. degree; at least three years post-graduate training in primary care medicine.
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer license to Texas.
- Certificate or license for prescribing controlled substances.
