- JOB SUMMARY AND SPECIFICATIONS
- JOB SUMMARY
- Provides limited respiratory treatment, diagnostics and therapy under the direct supervision of a credentialed respiratory care practitioner. Student practitioners are under medical and technical supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
• Setting up and calibrating equipment
• Observing and recording patient signs and status during treatment
• Assisting with respiratory treatment under supervision of Respiratory Therapist
• Properly cleaning and sterilizing equipment
- Provides limited respiratory treatment, diagnostics and therapy under the direct supervision of a credentialed respiratory care practitioner. Student practitioners are under medical and technical supervision.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional & Technical Skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Recommendation from academic program chair
- Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS certification
- Currently enrolled with good standing in a CoARC credentialed program
- Must have completed course studies in:
- i. Anatomy and physiology
- ii. Medical gas administration
- iii. Respiratory pharmacology
- iv. Medical aerosol administration
- Other Skills or Requirements
- Must be eligible to apply for student permit through the Indiana Health Professions Bureau
- Customer service oriented personality
- Skilled to Care for Certain Age-Related Patient Groups (incumbents will be skilled in the care of the following patient groups)
