Clinical Educator
JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Educator position has a dual responsibility for the ambulatory practices and hospital units. The Clinical Educator is the teacher, clinical resource, practitioner, consultant, and change agent for the clinical areas. Collaborating with the employees and leadership. The Educator is responsible for the assessment, planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of employee educational needs. Serves as a role model for all levels of employees. The position will divide time spent in clinical areas and time spent in a classroom.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates the education program for IMG based on identified staff needs, and federal, state, and local regulations.
Participates in the Ambulatory and Hospital Quality Improvement plans
Coordinates the orientation program for new staff and other programs
Arranges education programs and staff training during the year
Oversees preceptors of new hires
Conducts annual competency skills evaluations for preceptors
Supports and participates in the identification and application of appropriate clinical research and changes in clinical policies and procedures.
Facilitates Clinical Leadership monthly meetings
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Valid RN license in assigned State Required
National Certification in Staff Development or other relevant clinical experience Required
EXPERIENCE
Preferred but not required, one-year prior experience as a Clinical Educator and/or adult teaching/learning
Clinical competence/excellence in area of specialty.
OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
Well-educated and knowledgeable and possess strong clinical experience.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
System utilization; Excel, word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Excellent skills in organization, research, and mentoring
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Protocols, Procedures, and Standards within the area of clinical expertise.
Ability to assess educational needs and design and develop responsible curricula
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment
Self-directed, self-disciplined, driven to succeed
Strong time-management skills, consistently meet deadlines, provides adequate follow-up to the leadership and practice teams
Builds and maintains strong work relationships that fosters a culture of collaboration
