Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Tele

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a hospital environment. Working collaboratively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care while ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and identify actual or potential health concerns.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately.
  • Monitor patient conditions, evaluate responses to treatment, and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Perform bedside procedures and point-of-care testing as required.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Promote patient safety and infection prevention practices in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Assist with discharge planning and ensure continuity of care across healthcare settings.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and professional development activities.
  • Serve as a patient advocate while supporting cultural diversity and individualized care needs.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication and collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
  • Experience caring for medical-surgical, telemetry, or progressive care patients.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Schedule:

  • Full-Time, Day Shift
  • 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call shifts as needed.
