Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team in New Lenox, Illinois. The NICU RN will provide specialized nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically fragile newborns while supporting families through high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level II/III NICU setting
- Monitor and assess infant conditions, including vital signs and responses to treatment
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and specialized neonatal treatments
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate and support parents and family members regarding infant care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and changes in patient condition
- Follow infection control, safety, and hospital protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the State of Illinois
- Minimum 2 year of NICU experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS and PALS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
