SCHEDULING COORD SPECIALTY
The Specialty Scheduling Coordinator is an experienced clerical staff member responsible for coordinating patient appointments involving multiple resources and/or complex record gathering (including records from external entities) to facilitate accurate scheduling.
The coordinator is also responsible for follow-up including communicating with all stakeholders (verbally, written and electronically).
The Specialty Scheduling Coordinator is typically assigned to one or two specialty areas, for example:
image-guided biopsies, stat radiology exams/procedures, Bone Marrow Transplants (including work-up procedures/preparations, caregiver education classes), infusion/chemotherapy and radiation procedures.
Minimum Education
Education Level; High School Diploma
Minimum Experience Required
• Minimum of two (2) years of scheduling experience or prior medical experience as a scheduler in a hospital/clinic with complex scheduling algorithms is required.
• Prior oncology-related scheduling experience and scheduling experience at Moffitt strongly preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication, computer and organization skills are required.
