School Therapist

As a School Therapist, you will:
• Perform a full range of clinical social work services in support of the students' primary therapist/treatment team.
• Interview students and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate student progress.
• Conduct family and group therapy sessions for students and their families in order to assist in resolving personal and environmental problems that prevent them from achieving their highest level of psychosocial functioning.
• Participate as a member of the treatment team and acts as a liaison for outside professionals and contractors.
• Work in collaboration with other school administrators as needed.

Requires:
• This position is open to LCSW-C, LCPC, LMSW, and LGPC. Requires appropriate Maryland license consistent with applicant's profession (e.g., LCSW-C, LCPC)
• In addition, Social Workers working in schools are required to have active MSDE certification as a School Social Worker at time of appointment or must apply for MSDE SW certification within 60 days of accepting a school Social Work assignment, and must maintain this certification while working in any school assignment.
• Two to three years' experience in a mental health setting.
• Prior experience in a school or therapeutic milieu setting is preferred
