Scrub Technologist
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seeking a Scrub Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room at the main hospital in Bolivar, Missouri - someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve.
Position Details
- Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
- Work Shift: Days
- Hours: 72 hours every 2 weeks, 7am-5:30pm
What Your Day Looks Like: The OR consists of 23 active surgeons who perform an average of 372 surgeries/month. The OR has 6 outpatient, 3 inpatient, and 1 C-section designated suites that run 4 teams of staff each day. The surgeons work to educate, train, and develop staff to operate fluidly together.
As a Scrub Technologist, you will be:
- Setting up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications needed for procedures
- Checking patients' charts, identifying patients, verifying surgeries to be performed
- Handing instruments, supplies, and equipment to surgical team during procedures
- Preparing sterile dressings and securing dressings after incision closures
- Cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization
- Assisting with terminal cleaning of rooms and prepping rooms for the next patient
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma required,
Skills: Patient care, attention to detail, communication and listening skills
Licensure/Certification:
- Non-Certified Technician: Must work toward or obtaining NBSTSA certification, NCCT certified tech in surgery, or NRST certified tech in surgery within 36 months of employment. Or Licensed as a practical or registered nurse
- Certified Surgical Technologist. NBSTSA certification required or NCCT certified tech in surgery, or NRST certified tech in surgery or LPN/RN.
Physical Requirements: Physical stamina to stand for long periods, manual dexterity, ability to assist with positioning patients and lifting and carrying trays with surgical instruments.
