- Job Summary:
- Provides a safe and secure environment for patients, hospital personnel, visitors and property from careless, negligent or malicious acts, safety hazards, and fire.
- Education:
- Position requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Unexpired, unsuspended driver's license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.
- Experience:
- Position requires 0-6 months related experience.
- Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Complete and maintain CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
- Satisfactory completion of the "Safe Patient Handling" course provided by CHS within 3 months employment.
- Satisfactory completion of CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification within 3 months of employment.
- IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certification course within 3 months of employment.
- FEMA IS-100 and FEMA-200 completed within 6 months of employment.
- Complete department orientation within 3 months of employment.
- Handcuffing Certification within 3 months of employment.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively respond to emergencies via successful completion of mandatory bi-annual physical fitness tests (PFT)*. Failure to pass the PFT will result in a probationary period followed by termination for failing to meet the position's requirements. **Pertains to all officers hired after March 2014 and those officers hired before March 2014 who participate in the CHS Security Department Career Ladder. *PFT consists of a combination of the following maneuvers: 10 phase Physical Fitness Test requiring running, lifting, 30 push-ups and 30 sit-ups.
