Security Supervisor
Principal Accountabilities and Essential Duties of the Job
- Demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of the need for customer satisfaction, promotes, and provides patient focused services, and is responsive to the needs of all customers.
- Engages in creating and maintaining a positive, ethical and productive department and workplace that contributes to achieving progress on LRHS culture and strategic initiatives.
- Performs administrative duties professionally, effectively, and in a timely manner to ensure cost-efficient and safe operation of the service provided while complying with all employment laws and regulatory agencies including Federal, State and TJC. Represents Department & Organization in a professional manner, as needed, both internally and externally.
- May assist with complaint resolutions and maintains professional attitude and behavior.
- Responds to change with open communication and a willing attitude.
- Possesses the ability to work with other health system departments in a collaborative manner.
- Presents a professional approach and appearance, a friendly smile and pleasant tone of voice; operates as an active part of the team; maintains confidentiality Participates in department programs and initiatives; participates in opportunities for education and program review and development always searching for opportunities for process efficiency.
- Promotes a safe and secure environment by patrolling the buildings and grounds.
- Provides professional coordination by scheduling and organizing activities of security officers.
- Responds to emergencies in a prompt and professional manner. Assists in restraining or controlling combative patients and visitors. Completes written reports of all incidents; assists police department with investigations on hospital premises.
- Investigation and follow-up on all reported security-related events reports (Quantros), Interviews applicants and makes recommendations to the Director.
- Attends daily medical unit staffing meetings to identify safety or security issues.
- Maintains communication and rapport with hospital Leaders with key contacts being medical unit Leader, Educators, and House Supervisors.
- Maintains communication and rapport with area Law Enforcement Leaders.
- Conducts presentations and training while promoting cross-training for FT Officers.
- Maintains various supplies and records for the Security Dept.
An individual must have one-year verifiable security or law enforcement experience. This is a uniformed and armed position that requires certification in MO. We are seeking someone who has excellent customer service skills and is a team player. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED for this position
An annual influenza vaccination is required.
