The Senior Accountant of Commercial Finance is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all Trade Spend and Buyside accounts for the North America business unit including monthly journal entries and reconciliations, while also being responsible for all related financial activities such as forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
Trade Spend accounts generally include promotions, rebates, volume incentives, payment term discounts, other discounts, pickup allowances, returns, damages, and brokerage. Buyside accounts generally include inventory, accrued liabilities, and GR/invoice-receipt clearing with comans.
This role will also be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, general ledger entries, financial audits as well as forecasting and budgeting. This position reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager of Commercial Finance, and works closely with Commercial Finance, accounts receivable, sales, accounting, and FP&A.

Own critical aspects of the monthly accounting activities and financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy of all Trade Spend and Buyside accounts.
Manage Trade Spend MDF checkbook process including ROI review, setups, and monthly true-ups.
Manage Buyside information record setups, invoice reconciliations, and pricing updates for all coman facilities.
Prepare all Trade Spend and Buyside JEs, both monthly true-ups and ad-hoc miscellaneous and corrections.
Prepare all Trade Spend and Buyside balance sheet reconciliations including appropriate identification and resolution of any reconciling items.
Build all Trade Spend P&L account and balance sheet forecasts.
Build all Buyside balance sheet forecasts.
Write all Trade Spend bridges with commentary and quantification of rate, volume, and mix variances.
Submit all Trade Spend and Buyside audit responses of reports and documentation for compliance.
Compose clear, comprehensive, and concise, executive summaries in response to management requests.
Articulate and quantify any accounting or finance issues verbally and in writing with corrective action, root cause identification, and countermeasure.
Ability to compose concise, simplified written descriptions of accounting, finance and customer issues, supported by detailed analysis and the ability to effectively communicate the subject matter to the customer, team, and management.
Support management, sales, accounting, and FP&A with troubleshooting to resolve Trade Spend and Buyside related issues.
Lead special projects and enhancements through action plans and Pareto.
Create and maintain SOPs for Trade Spend related accounting and finance activities.
Have a solid understanding of the company, customers, industry, and the latest news affecting it all.
Assist in the execution of year end physical inventory audits for Buyside Plants.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
3-5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or active pursuant (preferred but not required)
SAP/BI experience (preferred but not required)
Physical – Continuously sitting for prolonged periods using a computer as the job is administrative in nature.
Visual/Sensory – Requires attention to detail with one or two senses at a time.
Work Environment – Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to remain focused under pressure. Attention must be concentrated in the face of numerous changing stimuli.

Based in-office 100% Tampa corporate office with minimal travel requirements.
