We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate, Administrative Services, EU Clinical Development to be based in our MSD offices in London, Kings Cross.

The Senior Associate, Administrative Services for our European Clinical Development (ECD) team will be reporting to the Therapy Area Head for diabetes and womens health and provide administrative support to the local management as well as for International European Clinical Development colleagues. The team consists of Treatment Area Heads for other therapy areas based in London.

Nature and Scope of Position:

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

Provide general administrative support to the European Clinical Development team members in the UK and Europe:

e.g. deal with general correspondence, manage files, type and prepare presentations, organize business travel, organize staff meetings, prepare expense reports, manage vacation schedule (as required).
Assist local management in the processing of essential documents for performance planning and accomplishments of European Clinical Development staff.

Typing, draft documents for internal and/or external use.

Agenda management: follow-up on agenda of local management and ensure that the communication flow between local staff and Headquarter management sites is optimized.
Continuous improvement: constantly assesses internal administrative processes and proposes alternatives for better functioning to the management. Informs the management of possible issues.
Assist in maintenance of departmental team spaces.
Booking travel and handling travel VISAs, wherever appropriate, for the local management team.
Raising purchase orders and managing the teams expenses.
Arranging meetings for the key stakeholders in the London office.


Significant experience in providing administrative support to key stakeholders at Executive Director level.
Previous experience in working in a regulated environment in an international organization will be ideal.

Skills required:

Written and spoken fluency in English.
Excellent computer skills, including standard MS Office applications (Word, EXCEL, Powerpoint).

Experience with working on SAP and Concur would be advantageous.
Excellent Communication and organizational skills.
Ability to operate in an international environment.
Confidentiality and professionalism.
Very high accuracy.
Capacity to work autonomously and in a team.
