SHIFT SUPERVISOR, NURSING

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Coordinates, delegates and provides professional care to patients assigned to an Inpatient Services Department, in accordance with prescribed, delegated medical regimen, nursing regimens, and medical center policies. The primary function of the shift supervisor is to provide orientation, training, education and supervision of the unit in order to ensure consistent standards of practice and competencies in the delivery of patient care on an assigned shift. The Shift Supervisor works collaboratively with the manager, serves as a resource person, consultant, role model and educator.
  • EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum Required:
      • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
      • BLS certification required; recertification required bi-annually.
      • ACLS and NRP is required.
      • No written or oral accountability conferences in personnel file for absences or breech of standards of behavior for one year.
    • Preferred:
      • BSN
      • Specialty certification
      • AHA instructorship in BLS, PALS, and ACLS
