DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. -Supervises staff and manages employee performance; provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests way to develop skills; monitors workflow. -Participates in/assists with inspections by regulatory agencies. -Coordinates code compliance, project management and contract management of facilities. -Administers facility operations within Community Hospital function (general cleanliness, safety, hazardous material, facility maintenance, code compliance). -Evaluates performance of contractors and assist in development of contracts and specifications. -Investigates and makes recommendations to senior leadership regarding special projects, major maintenance, and capital improvement projects. -Manages the computerized building management systems and preventative maintenance program; determines major repair needs of facilities and equipment to support on-going major maintenance program. -Leads in planning for new construction and advises staff on support service issues. -Schedules and coordinates departmental training; manages work programs; oversees on-the-job training. -Determines methods and procedures for proper use of materials and labor. -Manages the maintenance/repair budget within Community Hospital function; analyzes and recommends the most cost-effective approach to maintenance, repair and renovation of facilities. -Develops, maintains, and coordinates facility standards for County owned buildings; makes recommendations to Sr. leadership regarding maintenance and recommended improvements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Required Education : Bachelor’s degree in related field. Required Experience : Five years of medical facilities experience in the operational and maintenance of a hospital or healthcare organization and/or project coordination (seven years in lieu of Bachelor’s degree).
