Social Worker - Acute - (SW - Acute)

BETHEL, ALASKA. START DATE: 8/19/2019 for 13 weeks. SHIFT: All shifts. REQUIRED SKILLS: FACILITY PAYS FOR HOUSING AND AIRFAIRE. Uses holistic approach in provision of medical social services to YKDRH patients and their families to assist in solving or ameliorating physical, social, emotional, and/or environmental problems which retard or prevent patients from attaining or retaining optimum health. Social services are provided to people of all ages, from intra-uterine through elderly. MSW (Master of Social Work) from an accredited school of Social Work One (1) year experience in hospital or health-care setting. State of Alaska license at Master's level (LMSW) required or eligibility. Valid Alaska State driver's license is required.

Bethel is located west of Anchorage, Alaska and can only be accessed by water or air. It has a subarctic climate with long snowy cold winters and mild, short summers and is the main port and transportation hub for 56 villages in that area of Alaska. Annual events in Bethel include a Dogsled Race, a Fair in August and a Traditional Dance Festival in the Spring.
