Sonographer, Student
The Student Sonographer is required to have direct supervision by a registered Echo Sonographer with patients and physicians, performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms while providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards. The student echo sonographer shall be capable of operating ultrasound equipment, properly cleaning and sanitizing the probes and equipment after each use. This position is also responsible for performing a variety of basic secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as customer service, examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval, (HIS, RIS, PACS), and infection control. Student echo sonographers exercise professional judgment while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service, age specific criteria, safety and medical ethiscs
Education: High School or equivalent. Enrolled in and be a student in good standing of an AMA approved school of Echocardiography.
Additional Experience Requirements: Clinical experience in an Echocardiography program
