  • Salary placement shall be made by the Board or the Board designee and is commensurate with education and experience pursuant to the APT Negotiated Agreement

9 Month Position

Description:

  • Screen and evaluate students to determine needs and breadth of speech and language services.
  • Schedule and provide therapy to students utilizing a variety of intervention service models.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with parents, staff, and students on progress.
  • Meet regularly with teachers, paraprofessionals and specialists to discuss individual student's modifications or adaptations, ongoing learning issues, interventions or problems. Work collaboratively to ensure student's needs are met
  • Complete required documentation and data collection necessary for IEP reports, goals and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Participate in staff development and school improvement activities in order to maintain professional growth. Plan and incorporate best practices or new strategies.
  • Experience in Rtl practices.
  • Participate in events outside of the regularly scheduled work day such as orientation, open houses, conferences or extra-curricular activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Educator License Registered in Will County
  • State of Illinois Speech & Language Pathologist Endorsement (SLPN)
  • Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Speech and Language Pathologist License
