Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Summary: Padua Community Services, an intermediate Care Facility (ICF), is seeking a licensed, part-time Speech Therapist to provide speech, language, and swallowing services and assessments to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Speech Therapist will assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance residents communication abilities, functional skills, and overall quality of life in accordance with state and federal ICF regulations.

Direct Report To: Director of Patient Care

Supervises: No

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident needs, abilities, and goals.
  • Provide direct therapeutic interventions focused on communication, articulation, language development, alternative/augmentative communication, and safe swallowing practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nursing, direct support professionals, and physical therapist, and program leadership.
  • Train and support staff in communication strategies and therapeutic techniques to reinforce goals.
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with ICF standards and agency policies.
  • Participate in care plan meetings, interdisciplinary reviews, and quality assurance activities as required.
  • Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements: Ability to interact with residents in a residential setting.

Ability to perform assessments and therapeutic activities that may require standing and walking.

Minimum Educational and General Qualifications:

Mater's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current and valid state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.

Experience in an Intermediate Care Facility or residential setting, or similar healthcare environment is a plus.
