POSITION: Speech Language Pathologist
Ten (10) Month Position
START DATE: September 1, 2026 - Pending Criminal History Clearance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Speech & Language Pathologist certification from the NJ State Department of Education.
- Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate intervention strategies.
- Excellent oral and communication skills.
- Demonstrated attitude for successful completion of tasks assigned.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications the Commission may find appropriate
SCOPE:
The Speech and Language Pathologist reports to the Principal or other appropriate certified administrator, as designated by the Superintendent. The Speech and Language Pathologist is part of an interdisciplinary team responsible for coordination and development of services for students with disabilities, as well as delivery of related services and program evaluation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide implementation services for children who require the specialized services of a Speech and Language Pathologist. The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for exploring the following areas in each area of service:
- Identifies needs of students; develops action plans based on identified needs; evaluates ongoing programs/plans; implements ongoing programs, activities and revises activities as needed; advises school personnel regarding available resources.
- Presents information about the services offered to students, school personnel, parents; assists parents and students with individual needs to secure available services; creates a positive climate during consultation; serves on multidisciplinary teams.
- Delivers services to students to improve skills/functional abilities; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents and educational staff; assists teachers and students in implementing plans/strategies; involves students in setting objectives; uses a systematic process to assess needs plan intervention and evaluate outcomes.

SALARY: Following the established MCESA Salary Guide ranging from Step # 1 MA $61,953 to Step # 20 MA+30 $87,653
