Speech Language Pathologist

We love what we do...providing high quality care and exceptional patient experience! This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic 20-member Rehabilitation staff including Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Cardiac Rehabilitation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic, evaluative, and treatment services to clients with speech, language, voice, or swallowing problems in our new inpatient hospital unit and in both the adult and pediatric outpatient clinics. Caseload will be adult, with opportunity for growth, and 70-75% outpatient pediatrics. Inpatient weekend rotation and holiday coverage approximately every 3-4 weeks. Applicants must have a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program and a current license as a Speech Language Pathologist by the State of Minnesota. Videofluorographic swallow study experience necessary. Vital Stim and Parkinson's Big and Loud certification preferred. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Provides Speech/Language evaluation, treatment planning, and treatment implementation to clients of all ages; addresses individual developmental, cognitive and physical needs, as well as cultural differences.
  2. Coordinates client care with other disciplines through good communication and intervention recommendations.
  3. Provides education, information, and training to clients, family, caregivers, and community to promote continuity of care, optimum therapeutic outcome, and community health.
  4. Maintains documentation and records of treatment performance to assure quality client care, meet regulatory and professional standards, and receive optimal reimbursement.
  5. Acts as a consultant to internal and external customers.
  6. Maintains education, knowledge, and training required to provide up-to-date, quality care to meet client case load and community needs and meet minimum national and state licensure requirements.
  7. Oversees Speech/Language students and volunteers.
  8. Participates in quality improvement and peer review to assure effective and efficient services.
  9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.



Education, Training or Degree Required:

1. Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology

License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)

  1. Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist by the State of Minnesota.
  2. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certification and is able to accumulate the supervised experience required for certification.
  3. BLS (if not current, within 30 days of start date)



Experience and Skills:

  1. Previous work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist is desirable but not required.
