Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking a Speech Therapist for our practice who provides clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:
Conducts a subjective assessment of assigned patient's speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. Administers objective tests to assesspatient'scommunication assets and liabilities.
Comparesresults to standardized data to evaluate communicativefunction.
Structures and implements individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
Evaluates patient regularly during treatment and adjusts program as needed to maximize patient progress.
Documents progress in patient's chart. Completes notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
Provides ongoing education topatientand family as needed.
Collaborates effectively with all members of the rehabilitation team.
Maintains a safe, secure, and infection/hazard-free environment.
Consults with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Directorregardingpre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determineappropriate placementof potential patients.
Serves as an educational resource to patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, payor representatives, physicians, discharge planners, therapists, community members, and other parties asappropriate regardingrehabilitation issues.
Establishes andmaintainseffective working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, payor representatives, hospital administration, community members, and referral sources.
Implements operations and processes to support,facilitate, andmaintainuniform performance of inpatient care.
Supports interdepartmental performance-improvement/customer satisfaction activities.
Completes assigned non-clinical duties when the need arises.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" and "Mission and Value Statement."
What Qualifications you will need:
EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology isrequired.
EXPERIENCE:
1+ years' experience in direct patient rehab isrequired.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
Currently licensed as a Speech/Language Pathologist in the state(s) of practice,in accordance withlaw and regulation. - Required
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) - Preferred
