Speech-Language Pathologist
Sweet Home Public Schools seeks outstanding, highly qualified candidates for the position of full-time
Speech-Language Pathologist. Successful candidates will possess necessary Oregon licensure and
endorsements. The SLP will provide assessment, evaluation, and direct and consultative services for
students ranging from K - 12 across settings which may include self-contained classrooms as well as
general education classrooms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The duties listed below are not inclusive, but characteristic of the
type and level of work assigned for this position. Individual employees may perform all or some
combination of the duties listed below as well as other related duties.
- Effectively manage and supervise students and their work;
- Plan and teach special individualized programs for students with communication disorders;
- Develop individualized educational plans (IEP's) for a full caseload of identified students;
- Establish professional working relationships with staff, colleagues, students, parents and the community;
- Positive and effective communication and collaboration skills desired;
- Maintain student confidentiality in thorough and secure record-keeping following FERPA, IDEA and HIPPA guidelines when needed;
- Participate in all meetings as required by the school, district, or laws, to address student need;
- Perform job-related tasks as designed by supervisor;
- Adhere to district, state, and federal policies and procedures;
- Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules;
- Engages in professional growth through a variety of means;
- Duties may entail SLPA supervision;
- Compile and maintain required service records and documentations for assigned students on caseload;
- Be able to work in a variety of settings including classroom, school buildings, and office environments;
- Potentially sit in child-sized chairs for extended periods of time;
- Provide own transportation as deemed necessary for traveling to schools and districts throughout the school day;
- Use computer to generate documents on a word processor or database for extended periods of time.
