speech Language Pathologist

Nodaway Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treatime residents with commujication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise and resident centered approach will contribute to the overall well-being and quality of life of our residents.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients speech, language, cognitive-commuication, and swallowing abilities

Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, patient history, and collaboration with other heathcare professionals

Implement evidence-based therapy techniques and interventions to enhance residents communication and swallowing skills

Monitor and documetn residents progress toeards meeting therapy goals and adjust treatment plans accordingly

Educate residents and their families about their conditions, communication strategies, and home exercises to facilitate continuous improvement

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professional to ensure coordinated and comprehensive resident care

Stay updated with the latest research and developments in speech therapy and evidence-based practices

Maintain accurate and organized patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards

Adhere to all regulatory requirements and guidelines pertaining to speech therapy services

Participate in team meetings, conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills

Qualifitcations:

Valid state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist

Certificate of clinical competence in Speech-Language pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred

Previous exxperince working as a Speech Language pathologist is highly desired

Knowledge of and exxpertise in evaluating and treating a varity of communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to determine appropriate therapy stategies

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with residents, families, and colleagues

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-based setting

Proficient computer skills for documeation and record-keeping purposes
