Great Valley High School

Great Valley School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Speech-Language Pathologist for the first semester of the 2026-27 school year. Under the general supervision of the Director of Student Services, the speech-language pathologist will lead the process in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district's speech-language program. To respond to the individual needs and abilities of all students, the Speech-Language Pathologist must work closely with students, families, staff and administration.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and instruct students daily on specific, individualized qualifying IEP goal areas
  • Provide quality, daily instruction for students
  • Communicate effectively with students and their families as needed
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment; should be flexible and have a cooperative attitude with fellow team members
  • Proactively solve problems and address areas of concern for students
  • Use effective classroom management to support a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Assist in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students
  • Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students
  • Ensure that all activities conform to District and cooperative guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the school district, cooperative, and community
  • Provide targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment
  • Assess the need for assistive technology and equipment and make recommendations for its use at school to help students function as independently as possible.
  • Document speech therapy services, and maintain records in accordance with school district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct continuing education for school staff, parents, and students
  • Continue to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications

  • Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certification
  • Master's degree

2025-2026 Salary Schedule (contract for 2026-27 currently in negotiation):

Experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10

Bachelor's $62,845 to $73,195 (Step 10)
Bachelor's + 15 $67,145 to $77,495 (Step 10)
Master's $78,045 to $88,395 (Step 10)
Master's + 15 $80,520 to $91,120 (Step 10)
Master's + 30 $82,995 to $93,845 (Step 10)
Master's + 45 $85,470 to $96,570 (Step 10)
Master's + 60 $87,945 to $99,295 (Step 10)
Doctorate $90,420 to $102,020 (Step 10)
