Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Peoria
Come grow with us as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) at Soar Autism Center! Soar provides interdisciplinary early intervention services for young children ages 2-6 with autism. Our care model incorporates the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), a naturalistic, developmental approach. As an SLPA, you will deliver pediatric speech therapy under the supervision of a licensed SLP, collaborating with OTs, BCBAs, and psychologists to build meaningful communication skills.
Role Details
- Job Type: Full-time, on-site
- Schedule: Choose between available 4x10 or 5x8 schedules, depending on center availability
Pay & Benefits
- Base Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00/year per year
- Bonus: Annual performance bonus potential up to $3,800, with additional compensation opportunities for achieving clinical certifications
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct pediatric speech therapy sessions for children ages 2-6 following treatment plans created by supervising SLPs.
- Implement functional communication interventions, including AAC strategies and devices, in an early intervention setting.
- Integrate speech and language goals into Soar's ESDM-informed, play-based care model.
- Collaborate with RBTs, OTs, and other clinicians so communication goals are reinforced throughout each child's day.
- Partner with families to develop meaningful goals and practical strategies they can use outside of therapy.
- Support children with autism through naturalistic, play-based communication interventions.
Qualifications
- Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field meeting state requirements.
- Active state licensure or registration as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
- Active Speech-Language Pathology Assistants Certification (C-SLPA) from ASHA
- Experience working with children preferred, and AAC experience is a plus.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with a passion for pediatric speech therapy and interdisciplinary care.
