Job description:
The speech and language pathologist will work with students in grades K through 8 who have challenges in language, literacy, memory and processing, executive functioning, and/or social pragmatic communication difficulties. We are seeking candidates with expertise in working with students who require language-based instruction and who are able to link therapy to classroom objectives and to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Providing speech and language therapy to students with this service on their IEPs
- Consulting to general education and special education staff regarding student needs and best practices
- Ongoing consultation to a program for students with language-based learning needs
- Providing direct service and consultation to hearing-impaired students
- Completing and presenting speech and language assessments
- Attending IEP meetings
- Monitoring student progress through the collection of data Completing IEPs and progress reports
- Designing and implementing small group and/or inclusion intervention and instruction focused on listening, speaking, reading, writing, auditory memory/processing, executive functioning, and social thinking/pragmatic skills to support academic and social competencies.
- Working with students with augmentative communication devices
Required Qulaifications
- Must have a current Massachusetts license (CCC-SLP)
- Must have experience working in schools and/or with children ages 5-13
- Must be willing and able to provide remote teleservice to students indiviudally or in groups Must be willing and able to conduct in-person evaluations with COVID-19 precautions in place
