Position Summary

As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. You'll develop individualized treatment plans, educate residents and staff, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support optimal resident outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate residents for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on resident needs.
  • Provide skilled therapy services aligned with medically necessary goals.
  • Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when appropriate.
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on treatment approaches and progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians and team members to coordinate instrumental swallowing evaluations (e.g., MBSS, FEES).
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation per facility and regulatory standards.
  • Respond promptly to family inquiries and concerns.
  • Train and support restorative nursing staff as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and dignity at all times.

Qualifications

  • Active Arkansas Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • ASHA Certification or eligible Clinical Fellow (CF).
  • Good standing with all relevant licensing boards and agencies.
  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) or long-term care preferred.
  • Familiarity with Net Health documentation system a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
