Department Summary
Ohio University Therapy Associates is looking for a PRN Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to assist with evaluation and treatment coverage at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital in both the acute care and outpatient setting.
Position Profile
Diagnoses and treats speech and language problems. Evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors. Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with speech language problems of organic and nonorganic etiology.
Level Summary
Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports.
Fiscal Responsibilities
May have budgetary responsibility for small-scale projects or initiatives.
Problem Solving
Solves complex problems, often with limited guidance.
Independence of Action
Works independently; seeks guidance for unusual situations.
Communication and Collaboration
Collaborates with team members and external departments. May represent the team in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
The position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, and travel. Candidates must possess strong communication, auditory, and visual skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, push, or pull between 20 and 50 pounds. The role may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Three or more years of related professional experience.
- License or license eligible to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with FEES and/or MBS is preferred.
