Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-Based

Position Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, treatment, consultation, and case management services to students with speech, language, communication, and related disorders. The SLP works collaboratively with teachers, families, special education staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support student success in the educational environment.

Compensation

• $110–$120 per hour
• Final hourly rate will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and assignment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and assessments for students.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
• Provide individual and group speech-language therapy services in accordance with students' IEPs.
• Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, assessments, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Develop measurable annual goals and objectives and monitor student progress toward those goals.
• Complete required documentation, progress reports, assessment reports, and service logs accurately and within required timelines.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents/guardians, school psychologists, occupational therapists, special education staff, and other educational professionals.
• Provide consultation and recommendations to school staff regarding communication strategies and classroom accommodations.
• Support students with a variety of communication needs, including articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social/pragmatic communication, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, district, and special education requirements, including IDEA and applicable IEP procedures.
• Manage an assigned caseload and coordinate services based on student needs and school schedules.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with FERPA and district policies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or credential required to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the applicable school setting.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred 
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
• Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP development, assessment procedures, and school-based service delivery.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Work Environment

Services are provided within a school-based setting and may include classrooms, therapy rooms, special education environments, and other designated instructional areas. The SLP may support students across one or multiple school sites depending on district needs.
