Hours: Sunday to Wednesday 9a - 4:00p
Full Time - 32 hrs
Starting salary 32 hr: $59,072 - $80,271.36
Seeking a Full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our growing multi-disciplinary team in our IPR and Day Neuro settings. This is a Full-time 32 hour per week position with a Sunday through Wednesday schedule at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Lakeway. This position has a 9:00 am start time and hours are 9:00-4:00. Cross training required to cover both our inpatient rehab unit as well as our Day Neuro program. The candidate will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to treat medically complex patients that include stroke, brain injury, Parkinsons and other acquired neuro diagnoses with co-morbidities including aphasia, apraxia, cognitive-communication deficits, motor speech disorders, voice and dysphagia. We are seeking a candidate with strong patient-centered and neurological rehab skills who works well in a team setting. We are open to recent graduates with previous experience with cognitive rehab, brain injury and stroke- No CFY opportunities at this time.

Responsibilities
Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements and modifies treatment plan in accordance with the patient's needs and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients. Ensures the design of functional and patient-centered treatment programs allowing for an effective return to community, vocational or academic activities. Serves as an educator of patients, families, students, co-workers and self. Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, development of discipline-specific therapy services and design of program delivery.
Specific Duties
• Evaluate the patient's level of functioning and develop an individualized treatment plan aligned with patient and family goals
• Participate in discharge planning including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- CCC-SLP certification from ASHA, TX-SLP certification from the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- Dysphagia experience required.
- 3+ years of outpatient experience with adult neuro preferred.
- LSVT/SPEAK OUT certification preferred.
- Working knowledge and familiarity with AAC preferred
- NMES for swallowing preferred
