Speech Language Pathologist ( SLP) Qualifications:
- Musthave a master's degree from an approved curriculum in speech pathology, or itsequivalent
- Musthave a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/SLP) from the AmericanSpeech/Language/Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical FellowshipYear (CFY)
- Mustbe licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a speech-languagepathologist or CFY in the state of
- Prior experience in Speech Therapy, preferred
- Member of state and national American Speech and HearingAssociation, preferred
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Proficientadministrative and public relations skills
- Thoroughknowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in speechtherapy
- Thoroughknowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessaryprecautionary and remedial measures
- Abilityto establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and toobtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
- Abilityto establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff andother personnel
- Abilityto understand, interpret, and adopt a physician's written or oral directionsand to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits regardingspeech therapy
- Demonstrateemotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients andemployees
- Mustmaintain patient and employee confidentiality
- Knowledgeof Medicare and third party reimbursement, preferred
