Location: Harlingen, TX

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Contract Length: Monthly, with the option to renew

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In this rewarding role, you will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to improve communication, swallowing function, and overall quality of life. This position offers the opportunity to serve as a clinical expert and make a lasting impact through direct patient care, staff education, and program development.
Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Provide therapeutic services for speech, communication, and dysphagia management.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate, train, and provide guidance to staff regarding therapy recommendations and treatment plans.
  • Monitor treatment outcomes and update care plans to maximize patient progress.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with disaster response, recovery efforts, or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities when needed.

Requirements

  • Current Texas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
