Speech Pathologist 2 (Hourly/Per Diem)
Job Description
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per-diem Speech Pathologist 2. The successful candidate will:
- Perform swallowing evaluations.
- Conduct modified barium swallow (MBS) studies for patients of all ages.
- Determine appropriate diet recommendations.
- Coordinate with dietary, nursing, and medical staff in managing diet textures, consistencies, and restrictions.
- Educate residents, nurses, physicians, patients, and families regarding alternative nutrition methods.
- Document results of assessments, evaluations, and studies, etc.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- New York State Speech Language Pathology Licensure.
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- 1+ year of speech pathology work experience within a hospital setting.
- Excellent bedside manner, communication, and time management skills.
- Or, a satsifactor equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
