Staff Environmental Engineer - Air Quality (Multiple Locations)

Burns & McDonnell's regional operation in Texas is looking for a Staff Environmental Engineer to provide air permitting and compliance to the power, industrial, commercial, transportation and manufacturing industries. The Staff Environmental Air Engineer will work within our Environmental Services Global Practice and perform the following duties:
- This position will be responsible for preparing air permit applications for major projects, including Title V air permits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal air quality requirements.
- Technical understanding of his position will require knowledge of a wide variety of complex industrial operations; some experience in refining is a plus.
- Responsible for keeping up to date with new and proposed air permitting requirements, emission estimating methods, and regulations.
- Regularly meets and corresponds with clients, agency officials, or other outside personnel. Interested in international working partnerships.
- Specific knowledge and ability to bring key clients preferred.
- This position includes some marketing responsibilities and occasional travel.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering degree from an accredited program plus minimum 3 years of applicable professional experience.
- Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
- Previous consulting experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors, co-workers, and other professionals.
- Proficient in the use of computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
