Staff Nurse
- Position Summary
- Utilizing the Nursing Process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating, the Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care; managing assigned personnel, and Promoting collaboration among the multi-disciplinary health care team. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioners sites for consultation.
- Education
- Associate's in Nursing - Required
- Experience
- 1-2 Years Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care - Required
- 2 years Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care in a hospital within the last five years preferred.
- License & Certification
- Registered Nurse License with State of Practice - Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required in 90 days from date of hire
- Core Job Functions
- Calls patients at home after surgery to provide follow up and opportunity to clarify any instructions and answer questions.
- Calls patients the night before surgery to provide arrival times and answer questions. Gives preoperative instructions.
- RN is responsible for trouble shooting and maintaining laser equipment, preparing and administrating medications and supporting patient during procedure.
- Provide excellent patient care. Keeps family informed. Rounds on team and assists as needed.
- Takes initiative to review unit/departmental customer or co-worker satisfaction scores as posted in unit. Promotes measures to improve customer/co-worker satisfaction scores. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that promote excellent patient experiences.
- Participates in service planning and development using knowledge of industry trends. Takes administrative call. Supports change initiatives. Keeps manager informed of department activities. Takes administrative call.
