Staffing Coordinator Asst

General Summary

The Staffing Coordinator Assistant coordinates staffing and scheduling on a 24-hour basis. This role ensures staffing adjustments for assigned clinical areas and is completed in an accurate, timely fashion in order to provide a sufficient number of clinically competent staff to provide patient care. Uses cost-effective practices following policies and contract language as needed. Facilitates use of temporary staff (PRN and agency) to meet peak census points. Assists in staff orientation to staffing office.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Courses taken for business are desirable.
  • Strong customer satisfaction focus is desirable.
  • Ability to function professionally in a stressful environment.
  • Self-directed work experience, preferred.
  • Computer-literate in Windows-based environment in order to perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include professional telephone skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to utilize effective problem-solving techniques.

Required Length and Type of Experience

One (1) year experience is desirable in a healthcare setting working with scheduling of personnel and related information.

None

Required Physical and Environmental Demands

Manual dexterity for computer keyboard. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to use a telephone without TTY. Articulate speech. Occasionally, lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing at normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
