Supervisor, Laboratory

Job Summary: The Chemistry Supervisor oversees all operations within the Chemistry section of the Laboratory. Responsible for ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards. Provides leadership and technical guidance to laboratory staff.

Essential Duties:

• Supervise and schedule Chemistry department personnel.
• Maintain and troubleshoot all Chemistry analyzers and equipment.
• Review, validate, and release results for Chemistry testing.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, and JCMH standards.
• Perform, monitor, and document all quality control and proficiency testing.
• Collaborate with providers and nurses to ensure accurate interpretation of results.
• Maintain reagent inventory and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Participate in staff evaluations, training and continuing education.

Regulatory and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Current ASCP or AMT certification (MLS(ASCP) or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of Chemistry experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
