Surgical Technician Labor and Delivery
Step into the heart of the operating room and play a vital role in life-saving procedures. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Surgical Technologist prepares for and assists in a wide range of surgical operations, anticipating the needs of the surgical team with precision and focus. From assembling and operating both simple and complex surgical equipment-such as drills and scopes-to maintaining a sterile field, your attention to detail ensures the highest standards of safety and care.
Hourly Pay Rate: $24.00 - $35.40
Qualifications
Education:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have graduated from a vocational program for Surgical Technicians or Technologist.
- Three (3) years of on-the-job training experience may be accepted in place of completion of a vocational program.
Experience:
- Prefer three to five (3-5) years of experience with diverse surgical specialties.
Certification/Licensure:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
- Requires BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
- Requires specialized knowledge and skills in operating room practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are utilized to enhance and encourage collaborative staff and community relationships.
- Must be able to respond quickly and be familiar with operating procedures to have instruments ready for surgeons.
