Title: TMR RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST

Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Manager of Radiology at Box Butte General Hospital.

This employee learns department operations, including clerical duties. This employee can perform radiographic examinations only while ARRT registered technologist is present to oversee. The healthcare providers of Box Butte General Hospital may order these examinations. This service is done in accordance with as well as through the implementation of the hospital's plan to provide diagnostic radiographic and medical imaging examinations for the Box Butte County and surrounding area. These services are provided in an ethical, professional manner.

  • Essential Job Functions:
    1. Must be able to perform all major life activities including, but not limited to, caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, seeing, hearing, eating, sleeping, walking, standing, lifting, bending, speaking, breathing, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating, and working Specifically, must be able to perform standing, walking, lifting and bending for entire duration of shift and on call hours.
    2. Works under the direct day-to-day supervision of the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging.
    3. Performs radiographic procedures using a variety of technical and radiographic procedures within the scope of their license and also performs a variety of clerical duties that will require on occasion, independent judgment. This employee can perform radiographic examinations only while ARRT registered technologist is present to oversee.
    4. Responsible for quality assurance and quality control activities of the radiographic procedures.
    5. Provides basic care to stable patients within the scope of practice for unlicensed staff that includes actions that meet psychosocial and physical needs. Provides care to patients throughout the lifespan.
    6. Maintains a safe environment for patients throughout the lifespan.
    7. Collaborates and interacts well with the staff, allied health care personnel, physicians, patients and the community so as to project a positive image of the department and the hospital, and to coordinate quality patient care with special attention to patient age and needs.
    8. Maintain confidentiality of the hospital related information.
    9. Participate in teaching, mentoring and overseeing students enrolled in Imaging Technology Programs during clinical rotation and students shadowing in department as part of an internship or cadet program.

    1. Transport patients to and from various patient care areas being aware of individual patient needs.
    2. Maintain and complete patient records and reports.
    3. Maintain proper radiation protection for self and patients.

    5. Participates in own performance evaluation by identifying individual goals and reviewing progress with department manager.
    6. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by meeting annual requirements for validation of competency in specified skills.
    7. Be alert and able to concentrate on work with many interruptions and have good memory retention for work and cases completed.

Education:
Required: High School (or equivalent) and graduate or currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology Program with the intent of gaining additional clinical experience prior to licensure as a Medical Radiographer upon completion of the technologist program and passing the ARRT (R) registry.

Experience:
Required: Formal training in a JCAHO facility. Graduate or current enrollment in a Radiologic Technology Program

Licensure/Certifications

Pass ARRT (R) registry and obtain a State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license within 18 months of hire.

Upon hire, you must provide a copy of the Immunization Record and disclose your current influenza immunization.
