Ultrasound Tech
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Director of Imaging Services and/or Supervisor, and the clinical direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the technologist will perform diagnostic procedures at a technical level as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of an accredited allied medical health field including course work in anatomy and physiology.
- One-year specialized training/experience in order to acquire a suitable knowledge of anatomy and physiology and in-depth knowledge of sonography theory and expertise in scanning procedures and technique.
- Registered or meets eligibility requirements to sit for an examination by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Examinations must be completed within one year of hire.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for Neonates, Infants, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients/family served
- Continuing education credits must be obtained as required by RDMS.
- Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills and communication abilities necessary to interact with patient, physicians, and other hospital associates.
- Maintain CPR certification.
