Ultrasound Tech

  • JOB RELATIONSHIPS
    • Responsible to: Radiology /Imaging Manager and Department Director
  • DEFINITION OF POSITION
    • The Ultrasound technician is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. The technician works collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality imaging and patient care. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in Performance Improvement.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional
      • High school graduate and graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
      • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT)(S) or the America Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). All registry eligible sonographers in order to maintain employment must obtain certification within 12months of hire date.
      • Must maintain BLS/CPR credentials with an AHA program
      • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
      • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel and other Window application skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
